• BG Consulting will undertake part of the CAFTA assessment. Under the Booz Allen & Hamilton contract with USAID, BG Consulting will be in charge of analyzing the legal framework of the five Central American countries in the areas of company law, real estate law and contract law and make recommendations to adapt them to the realities of the Central America Free Trade Area Agreement with the United States
• Omar E. Garcia-Bolivar will be speaker at the annual conference of the Interamerican Bar Association in Madrid, Spain in June 26, 2004 on the topic "Arbitration and ICSID jurisdiction"
• Omar E. Garcia-Bolivar was appointed as associate editor of Transnational Dispute Management

• Malaga Webb-BG Consulting (consortium) will prepare the regional strategic export plans of Peru.
  
  Entity: Swiss Agency for Development and Cooperation (SDC).
  
  
• BG Consulting, Inc is part of the consortium that was awarded the Support for Economic Growth and Institutional Reform (SEGIR) Privatization II IQC by the U.S. Agency of International Development (USAID).
  
  This five-year IQC has a $500 million ceiling, and will build upon the first SEGIR Privatization contract. The team is lead by CARANA Corporation and consists of subcontractors Abt Associates Inc.; Nathan Associates Inc.; PA Government Services; Cameron McKenna LLP; Global Development Solutions, LLC; Euro-Phoenix USA, LLC; IMPAQ International, LLC; Land Tenure Center; The Peoples Group, Ltd.; and Teknecon Energy Risk Advisors, LLC. Resource firms include BG Consulting Inc., CompuSpa, Inc.; Indecon Consulting GmbH; and International Capital Corporation, Ltd.

• Omar García-Bolívar was appointed as arbitrator before the International Center for Settlement of Investment Disputes (ICSID) at the World Bank in Washington, D.C. for 6 years effective 7 August 2003. He was also appointed as arbitrator before the World Intellectual Property Organization (WIPO).
  
  In that capacity he will be able to solve disputes between investors and States and disputes related to intellectual property rights.

• BG Consulting has finished sucessfully a project in Saint Vincent and the Grenadines, Dominica and Grenada pertaining implementation of a code of ethics for customs officers

• BG Consulting has completed a project in Honduras related to implementation of a code of ethics for customs and tax officers. The code is to become law after it is passed by Congress

• In Paraguay BG Consulting recently delivered the model code of ethics for customs officers adapted to the Paraguayan reality. Several NGOs and officers of the new administration to take charge in August have praised the work and will encourage Congress to pass it as law

• In Bolivia, BG Consulting will continue doing promotion of Bolivian investments in the U.S. The work conducted by BG Consulting has been extended for an additional period in order to contact more investors. BG Consulting has already delivered results with almost 40 American companies already interested or doing business with Bolivia
