Inter-American Legal Affairs Committee
Present a Luncheon Program
Trade, Investment and Politics: A Roundtable on the U.S. -- Latin
America Relationship.
The view of the different sides.
Recent events show that Latin America’s relationship with the United States might be gaining momentum. Free Trade Agreements have been signed, trade preferences have been renewed and development cooperation is being promised. At the same time, the rhetoric has reached a historic high when allegations of political interference have been made. Likewise, important American businesses have been expropriated in Venezuela and there are indications that Ecuador and Bolivia might follow the trend. Our distinguish panel will present their views on the relationship between Latin America and the U.S. with a special focus on trade, investment and politics.
