International Law Section / Inter-American Legal
Affairs Committee
Presents a Luncheon Program
Regulatory Powers and Property Rights:
An Increasing Tension in Latin America
Recent changes in Latin American government show that the
imposition of limitations upon property rights (such as extensive licensing
requirements, environmental restrictions, and taxes) is increasing. This
lively talk program addresses the most common such obstacles being
encountered by oil and gas, and real estate investors in Latin America these
days, and the types of insurance and other protections and remedies that are
available.
