Ms. Escallón is an business administrator with studies in Colombia, Swueden and Japan. She has focused her career on the areas of project structuring, management and financing; appraisal and feasibility studies; problem analysis, project planning, follow up and cost control; tailored made financial sustainable models; financial planning and portfolio advisory and management.
Her expertise includes structuring and implementing new enterprises in Colombia and Venezuela, managerial and financial follow up and control for the investors and leading the selling process for the same companies. In these specific field she has worked mainly for the spanish multinational consultancy company ECA International, Spain, and ECA ICC S.A, Colombia. The latest project with this company ended in july 2006 and was about a Business Plan for an Ethanol Production Plant in Colombia.
As a Consultant of the CIFI (Los Andes University Engineering Research Centre), she reviewed all the figures and estimates for the Bogota Transit Secretariat to guarantee the operation consession given to SETT (Transit and Transportation Special Services) was economically faire and adjusted to the law; she also reviewed the figures and disigned the model to separate FINAGRO (Agricultural sector financing fund) from the Central Bank and make it efficient and sustainable.
For the public/private sector, she participated in the Entrepreneurial Proceedings Facilitating Project sponsored by the IDB, the Bogotá Mayoralty and the Bogotá Chamber of Commerce, designing the financial sustainability model for Bogotá and the main five capital cities in the country.
Ms. Escallón has always been a teacher for under graduate and post graduate students in the field of International Business, Managerial Decisions and Finance for some of the main universities in Colombia, such as La Sabana University, El Valle University and Santander Industrial University, among others.
